Middle School and High School Science Teachers

JOB SUMMARY :
If you have a passion for science and a gift for inspiring young minds, we are looking for you. We are currently recruiting 2 science teachers to join our outstanding faculty of teachers for the next school year.
If you are someone who incorporates technology and hands-on learning experiences into the classroom with enthusiasm. The ideal candidate also believes in collaboration with other colleagues and promotes understanding and communication in a diverse learning and cultural environment.
Facilitating student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing state & federal approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a safe and optimal learning environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create daily lesson plans and learning activities for students based on national, local and school standards in science education and research and knowledge of developmental behaviors.
• Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction in the form of discussion, direct teaching, demonstrations and independent practice using a variety of proven methods.
• Differentiate lessons when needed to give all students access to the curriculum regardless of disability, instructional level, English proficiency or level of interest in the subject.
• Evaluate student performance on tasks established by the standards using different methods such as observation, performance-based tasks or other standard test practices.
• Maintain a safe, orderly and supportive classroom by modeling expected behavior and standards, promoting positive interactions and quickly addressing behaviors that are not in line with the school discipline plan.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress, potential and behavior periodically through phone or electronic means and at parent and teacher conferences.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in science education or another related field
• Completion of an internship or filed experience in secondary education
• Current certification in science education
• Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing
• The ideal candidate is outgoing, well organized, competent in basic computer skills, and is an individual who is eager to work in a highly dynamic, energetic school setting.

IT Coordinator

Madina Academy is seeking an IT Coordinator to provide technical support and troubleshooting as well as manage the school's internet network and school devices. This is a part time position.

Position Requirements:
• An Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related areas.
• Experience troubleshooting problems with systems and programs.
• Experience with Windows OS, Chromebook and iPad.
• Be self motivated to introduce new technologies and make enhancements to existing systems.

Job Responsibilities:
The IT Coordinator's job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • ​Setup new devices as well as manage and maintain all computers, laptops, Chromebooks and iPads. Make sure software is up to date.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot problems with school network and internet, Smartboards, projectors and IP phone system
  • Create and manage staff and student email accounts.
  • Create and manage parent and student mailing lists
  • Create and manage automated calling (dialMyCalls.com) software
  • Create classes and users in the school’s learning management system (Schoology)
  • Create rosters and help proctor MAP tests
  • Create the school yearbook (and take pictures) as well as presentations, videos, flyers, certificates as needed
  • Maintain and update the school website
  • Flexibility in work hours - might need to stay after school hours or come on the weekend to work while students and staff are not on premise.

Librarian

Madina Academy is seeking a part time librarian.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Deliver books and provide in classroom support for planning periods to elementary school teachers
  • Categorize, catalog, and track book inventory into the catalog system
  • Help students select correct materials to broaden their curiosity about specific subjects
  • Aid faculty in teaching subjects related to the library if called upon to do
  • Collaborate with teachers to create, design, and implement lesson plans that incorporate multiple literacies and foster critical thinking
  • Empower students to become critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, and skillful researchers
  • Create a resource-based environment that is conducive to active and participatory learning
  • Remain an active, accessible, and informed proponent of the school library profession
  • Uphold Madina Academy culture
